The TaxiBot has Completed the Certification Tests in Frankfurt International Airport

Pending certification approval, an in-service evaluation will be conducted on commercial flights departing from Frankfurt airport.

Farnborough International Air Show, July 2014 – TaxiBot, the semi-robotic, pilot-controlled vehicle, designed to transport airplanes from airport gate to the runway and back (taxiing in and taxiing out) has completed certification tests in Frankfurt International Airport.

Tests were conducted on a Lufthansa B737 airplane in accordance with the official EASA and CAAI flight governing authorities. Following certification approval, an in-service evaluation will be conducted on commercial flights departing from Frankfurt airport.

Meanwhile, the TaxiBot Wide-Body (WB) prototype for WB airplanes has completed assembly and started dynamic driving tests in TLD’s factory near Tours, France.
